How to use Food Grade AA 90 Meter Per Hank Salted Natural Sheep Sausage Casings
Soaking:
Duration: Soak the casings in cold water for about 30 minutes to 1 hour.
Purpose: This rehydrates the casings and makes them more pliable.
Rinsing:
After soaking, rinse the casings thoroughly under cold running water. This helps to remove excess salt and any remaining impurities.
Turning Inside Out (Optional):
Some prefer to turn the casings inside out while rinsing for a more thorough cleaning.
Prepping for Stuffing:
Slide one end of the casing onto a sausage stuffing tube. Ensure that the casing is not twisted or kinked.
Pull the casing onto the tube to the desired length, leaving some extra casing at the end to tie off later.
Stuffing:
Prepare your sausage mixture according to your recipe.
Begin stuffing the casing gently, ensuring there are no air pockets. Do not overstuff, as this can cause the casing to burst.
Tying Off:
Once stuffed, tie off the open end of the casing tightly using kitchen twine or by twisting and tying a knot.
You can also make links by twisting the sausage every few inches and tying them off.
Cooking or Storing:
Depending on your recipe, you can cook the sausages immediately, smoke them, or refrigerate/freeze them for later use.
